Wines Tasted on March 29, 2014 were all under $20. The Celebration of Red included:
- Australia’s Ringbolt 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River (alcool content: 14.5%)
- France Bourdeaux – Di Pitray 2010 (alcool content: 14%)
- France Cotes du Rhone Domaine Brusset Cairanne Les Travers 2011 (alcool content: 13%)
- Napa Valley’s Slingshot 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (alcool content: 14.5%)
The Favorite of the night was the Di Pitray.
Served with:
- Cheese platter (Truffle Gouda, Purple Haze goat cheese & Barely Buzzed cheese, Sesame crackers, Rosemary/Raisin Cracker, Gluten-free Oat and Sesame crackers)
- Artichoke dip with crackers
- veggie plate (carrots, celery, jicama)
- mini quiches (egg, cheddar cheese & broccoli – see recipe at epicurious)
- fruit plate (green & purple seedless grapes, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- Beef Kabobs with peppers & onions
- red potatoes
- Chocolate Mousse cake
